I really don’t like seeing stuff like those constantly recurring Facebook statuses talking about how women have it harder than guys because of the regular, often painful things that nature or society subjects them to. Yes, women have periods. Yes, girls are expected to wear high-heeled shoes, wax their body hair and wear makeup. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, females live in a patriarchal society and therefore do inherit a harder lot in life, and will continue to as they always have done. All of this is true.
It’s when some women mistake the twats, who write the laws oppressing or mistreat women, for all men that it ceases to become feminism and becomes sexism. I RESPECT WOMEN. Frankly, I do believe it to be unfortunate that one sex is born to take so much pain in labour and in the menstrual cycle; but despite that, I feel that this minority of the female population takes it out of context - the natural aspect of women’s hardship is nobody’s fault, and the social aspect is indeed men’s fault - but I’m a dude, and it sure as hell isn’t my fault. I don’t give a righteous fuck what women wear, how high their positions are in society, or anything like that. They deserve equal fucking rights, in every single field where they can be treated the same. Basically, it annoys me when a girl decides she hates men because of the actions of a few assholes. I think that’s sexism.
